Regional Dressage Qualifiers Success(April 30, 2012)
Once again, Arena UK, Allington, Lincs played host to the North Midlands Dressage Qualifiers. The region is so lucky to have use of this fantastic venue and made full use of the indoor facilities this year. After the deluge of rain the day before, Karen Thompson, Dressage Co-ordiinator was pleased to see the sun which made transferring from the working in arena to the competition arena easier.
The competition ran from 11.00 am to 2.30 am with Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire counties represented. Judge, Peter Crafts, commented on the high standard of riding and turnout and said that he had thoroughly enjoyed his day with North Midlands RDA. Students from Grantham College helped with the scoring, writing and stewarding and they were all impressed with their first taste of RDA Dressage.
The Regional Dressage Trophy was won by Matthew Dalley of Scropton Group, just 0.5% in front of Christine Durrance from Mount Group. Emma Wells from Cleethorpes & Grimsby Group was awarded the "One in a Million" Trophy for the highest percentage of 82.35%. Emma commented that she was delighted with her performance and was very grateful for all the hard work of the instructors and volunteers from her group. Rosettes were presented by Regional Chairman, Lesley Davies, and judge, Peter Crafts.
Lesley thanked Karen Thompson for her hard work in organising the day and wished her and Emma Sheardown the best of luck with their mission to be selected for the Paralympic Games in London later this year.
